WHAT DO WE DO?

We organize cultural activities and organized trips to Morocco. Our aim is to create a new kind of tourism based on cultural exchange and sustainability. The association roots and culture has been created just this year but we are planning to organize cultural activities related to Morocco in Barcelona; lectures, conferences, cultural acts (music, gastronomy, literature, etc.)

WHAT IS SUSTAINABLE TOURISM?

Sustainable tourism is tourism attempting to make as low an impact on the environment and local culture as possible, while helping to generate future employment for local people. The aim of sustainable tourism is to ensure that development brings a positive experience for local people, tourism companies and the tourists themselves.
The concept of Sustainable tourism emerged from a great surge of tourists around the world due to the development of transport and new technologies  which have contribute to facilitate the international movement. This massive tourism, which has lead to / caused serious environment and cultural problems, raised /wakened the tourist market concern, which began to be conscious of the impact provoked by tourist activities, and it was how the necessity of creating another kind of tourism emerged, one kind more responsible and conscious of the environment and culture; the Sustainable Tourism.

What are we doing in ARC to promote Sustainable Tourism?

We want to promote an exchange between residents and visitors based on solidarity and mutual benefit. In order to obtain this objective, our tours offer the possibility to interact with local people. There is the possibility to visit women cooperatives, social and cultural associations, host families, associations promoting sustainable actions, etc.

At the same time, we want to promote a respectful tourism which would not harm the environment. Morocco is a treasure that we must respect; every part of its land, air and water still preserves an innate beauty which has managed to survive many years despite of the increase of pollution in other places of the Earth. Conscious of the importance of biodiversity in the sustainability, there has been implanted in Morocco a national strategy aiming to protect its biological heritage. More than a half million of hectares with different species have been reforested in all the country.
